brief

We chose to tell the life story of Yayoi Kusama because of her recognition as a modern artist and the immersive nature of her installation artworks. Her ‘Infinity Room’ is one of the most Instagrammed pieces, and her popularity growth and success raised by social media makes her a notable artist in today’s highly social generation.

Our team created an experience prototype to mock up a museum exhibit for the artist. My role was the UX designer and prototyper.

next steps & takeaway

This project is still a work in progress. The next steps that are currently being worked on are a prototype in Unity to begin implementing these designs into the virtual rooms. We would then begin user testing to iterate on the existing designs and refining them to higher fidelity.

It was an incredible experience to dive deep into the life of an artist each of us have admired for so long and to be able to express our admiration for her journey to become world renowned through technology, data visualization and immersive design.
